Located on the Nashik-Pune Road adjacent to St.Xavier's School, is a small Shrine dedicated to the Infant Jesus. Built in 1970, this beautiful Shrine is the result of hard work done by the Priest Fr.Peter Lewis, S.J. and the assistance provided by the donors.
The miracles worked by Infant Jesus started in Prague in the 17th Century with the discovery of "The Miraculous Image of the Infant Jesus of Prague"and spread world over. A nine day Novena is what the devotees offer to Infant Jesus for favours and blessings. This Novena started with the illness of Prior of Carmelite monestery. He vowed that if restored to health, he would offer Holy Mass for 9 successive days before the image of Infant Jesus. The favour was granted and his pledge fulfilled. Extraodinary and miraculous favours were multiplied. By 1655, the fame of Miraculous Statue and its wonder working properties spread from Prague to all across the world. So many graces have been received by those who invoke the Divine Child before the orginal statute that it has been called "The Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague". The multitude of devotees stands as a testimony to the power of prayer to the Infant Jesus.
All those who approach the miraculous statue and pray there with confidence, receive assistance in danger, consolation in sorrows, aid in poverty, comfort in anxiety, light in spiritual darkness, streams of grace in dryness of soul, health in sickness and hope in despair.
No colic is so painful, no fever so violent, no malady so dangerous, no peril so great, no tumor so malignant, no insanity so raving, no complaint so irritating, no assult of Satan so furious, no pestilence so infesctious, no swelling so serious, as not to be dispelled or cured by this blessed Child. The holy Infant puts an end to enmities, frees prisoners, saves those who are condemned to death, brings obstinate sinners to repentance and blesses childless parents with offspring. In short He has become all to all.
When you are in particular need, when all other sources of help seem to have failed, go to the Child Jesus and pour out the troubles of your heart to Him. That's why he said "unless you become like little children at heart, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven."
The Shrine and surroundings areas are quite peaceful except in the month of February every year when the Feast of Infant Jesus is held at this Shrine. Large crowds can be seen visiting the Shrine to pay their homage for various favours and blessings received. Donations flow in from all directions. The fest is held on 2nd Saturday of February every year.
All arrangements are made by the Shrine and local authorities to ensure peaceful atmosphere during the festival. Pilgrims from far and wide arrive by train, buses, cars and any available mode to pay their obeisance requiring special parking arrangement during this period.
The Shrine provides accommodation to the pilgrims in the Shrine campus limited to a few rooms on first come first serve basis at a very nominal cost. Food is also provided to the pilgrims in the eating hall on prior order.
There are number of hotels (budgeted and star category) available in Nashik city.
