St.Anthony of Padua is considered to be a saint to whom you can turn in times of distress or when things get lost. He is also known as the Patron of the Lost.

It is recorded that Henry Williams, a Britisher working in the defence in camp area had found a statue of St.Anthony of Padua when he was digging the foundation for his bungalow at Pune. In memorium Williams and his wife started a shrine in their bungalow in camp area in early 1940.

Tuesdays are dedicated for prayers to this Saint. Special Novenas are held in June in preparation for his feast.

A novena to St.Anthony is sure to bring solace to the person who is in distress. There are shrines in Mumbai (Sion) and Pune (Camp and Chinchwad) dedicated to St.Anthony. The number of devotees seeking his intervention in times of difficulties is ever increasing - be it be for sickness, marriage proposals, job problems, family tensions, gift of children and many other requirements of daily life. It is said that whenever an article is lost, praying to St.Anthony restores the article to its owner.

I have received innumerable favours from St.Anthony over the years.
